Freelancing is a great career option for any individual who feels restricted in the traditional salaried job. However, this does not mean that freelancing is easier or simple as compared to working full time for a corporate organization. Working as a freelancer can be an unimaginably complicated task. To presume that one can earn easy money through this is a very big mistake.

Freelancing is difficult because the individual will have to focus on all aspects of the business simultaneously. From marketing for new proposals to identifying the next big thing in his or her field-there is very little scope for delegation of work. Freelancing is encouraged in those areas where individuals make use of their special skills to cater to their clients. These skills cannot be simply passed on to some other employee.

Those who hate the discipline of a traditional job presume that they can be undisciplined by becoming a freelancer. Lack of discipline is always going to affect the business negatively. It does not matter whether you are working as an employee or as a freelancer.

The working conditions certainly become flexible but there is no letup in the intensity of activities. To succeed, one will have to be disciplined about commitments made to the client. One may have the freedom of choosing when to work. However, the option of not working just does not exist.

Do not think that you can change jobs and move from the freelancing world to a job and back to freelancing again without any consequences. You will find it very difficult to earn enough money to sustain your family if you are not committed.
